danielThom started his musical journey at the age of 4 years old. Playing a wide variety of instruments (Drums, Keys, Guitar, Bass and various Brass Instruments) in many local bands and organizations as a kid. His main studies included jazz improvisation while studying at prestigious Berklee College of Music for Music Production and Engineering. At Berklee he was introduced to the “world of synthesis” with Moog, Oberheim, ARP. Although he had been recording since the age of 8 he fused recording and synthesis to create a unique brand and sound.
Daniel has been associated with Berklee College of Music and been on scholarships through out the years with various projects involving Music Education and Synthesis. He’s deeply involved in Technology with Music involving various DAW’s, Instruments, Robotics and Code. He works with Ableton, AKAI, Moog, Roger Linn and countless others centered around sound design and technologies for the future.
Daniel has played countless clubs and venues through out the world and locally in Detroit heading local Bands such as Sudo Satire, Eightfold Path, embropa, Used Confusion to name a few since 1990. His current focus is centered around immersive audio and visual installations utilizing Ableton, Touch Designer, Unreal Engine and building / coding custom controllers and sensors. He is also obtaining and additional Masters from Berklee College of Music centered around Sound Design and Synthesis and working with Moog for Moogfest instalations.
